Chrono Trigger

Chrono Trigger
One of my Top 10 Favorite Games!

The Story and Character info is here.

First and foremost, this is a RPG. This game original came out on the SNES in 1995. Then it was re-released on the first Playstation with Final Fantasy IV in Final Fantasy Chronicles in 2001 here in the US. An animated opening, cut scenes and ending was added to the Playstation version. It is considered one of the greatest games of all time by many gamers and developers, even after this many years.

Its story flows very well and keeps you wanting to know what's going to happen next. Most games that deals with "time" make it come across weird and keeps players guessing, or right out confused, as to what's happening. However, this game makes you want to know more about the characters from the different Eras and the role it plays in the game. Also, if you get lost during a certain point, you can always ask the NPC's (non-playable characters) and they'll usually point you in the right direction.

Learning the controls and how the items system works is easy to understand. The turn-based battle system was the first of its kind when this game came out and Square Enix adapted it to other games afterward. There are only three people allowed in your party at once. Each character has his/her own techniques they can use in battles. These techniques come in 3 different levels: Single techniques, Double techniques and Triple Techniques. Single, of course, means only the character can use that techniques and any time their turn comes around with enough MP. Double techniques requires two party members to use those techniques. Finally, Triple techniques requires all three party members to use those techniques. Each technique is unique and fun to watch.

Basically, if you love a good story and role playing, this game is for you. If you are interested in trying out and RPG, then this game is a great starting point as well. Yes, it's an old game but give it a chance.

First Up, Cowboy Bebop!

Cowboy Bebop
It's basically a space western, where the gang of the spaceship "the Bebop" are bounty hunters.  They chase down criminals of all types around the solar system, or anything, that will make them money in order to stay alive. The characters are diverse, each with his or her own back story. Each character gets good coverage in the series, but it is mostly based around ex-mobster leader Spike Spiegel and Jet Black who is a formal cop and owner of "the Bebop".

Actually, this series is hard to explain in words. It is the show that got me into anime. Everything about it is solid, from the designs, voice acting, music (which is excellent!), and story. Each episode is stand alone, meaning you could watch almost any of them and enjoy it. However, you won't get the full experience of the show if you don't watch it from the beginning. I believe it is also the anime that jump started the industry here in the United States, other than Dragonball Z.

I highly recommend this show! Check it out...

Welcome from the Mellow Otaku

Welcome! I'm your blogger and reviewer of things Anime, Manga and Gaming. I'll try to provide a weekly review of a show, manga or game I am watching/reading/playing or have seen/read/played over the years. Feedback is always welcomed and appreciated, but please keep in mind this is my first attempt at this. I'll try to convey the review in an entertaining way. I am, by no means, an entertainer/comedian/actor/etc. I'll tell you my view on the subject, the decision to check it out is up to you.

And..here..we..GO!
